It has been a wonderful tradition for many years: Our festival audience not only sits comfortably in the cinema, but also gets active and awards the GOLDEN PEARL Audience Award! This award is given to the most popular films of each year in the three categories "Best Feature Film", "Best Short Film" and "Best Documentary".
Voting for the films at the festival is very simple. We provide voting slips at the entrance to the cinema, which can be filled out after each film and dropped into our box in the cinema foyer. The film with the best average rating in each category wins. We announce the audience’s favorites traditionally in the cinema foyer on the second Saturday of the festival right before the (out-of-competition) final film.
And it's worth taking part in the public vote! All voting slips will end up in the lottery drum after the count. We’ll be giving away lots of attractive prizes at our raffle in the cinema foyer before the final film.
